Lesson 5: Camera & Sequences

To calculate speed visually, we need to see how far the ground moves between two points in time.

Session Goals
  • Use the picamzero library.
  • Capture a sequence of images.
  • Understand why the interval (time gap) is important.

The Strategy

If we take Photo A at Time 0, and Photo B at Time 5 seconds, and we can measure the distance the ISS moved between those photos, we can calculate speed:

$$ Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time} $$

Constraint: You can store a maximum of 42 images. Be careful with your loops!
